I'm reading an interview between James Kullander and Pema Chodron called Sitting In The Fire, Pema Chodron on turning toward pain...
Here are two quotes from it:
"There's nothing wrong with what you are going through. It's very real, and it brings you closer to the truth."
"If you can have a direct experience of that pain, it will be a great teacher for you."
Of course, this woke me up to so many different openings. I have been in some pain recently because I just moved from Chicago, my homeland. My roots are exposed and are currently being replanted. It has made me impossible to live with at times. I'm grumpy in order to stuff and hide all of my emotional grief and to avoid it.
Trying to fix something can be the same as trying to avoid it. Its as if it isn't good enough to be your current feelings.
